The Broken Hill Sculptures

The Broken Hill Sculpture Symposium was held in 1993, and left the city with one of it's most spectacular tourist attractions. (It is situated in the Living Desert). A group of sculptors from around the world camped on site while carving huge blocks of sandstone. The largest single stone weighed in at approximately 8 tonnes. These three pictures are just some of the collection. This one is "Horse" by Jumber Jikiya of Georgia.
